Official Debut Single, 01 - モーニングコーヒー

Morning Coffee (JP: モーニングコーヒー) is the first official single of Morning Musume on an 8 cm CD under the One Up Music label. It was re-released in 2004 as part of the "Morning Musume Early Single Box" and in 2005 as a 12cm CD under the Zetima label.

initially, the lead vocals was planned to be Iida Kaori. Before recording of the song started, Tsunku replaced the lead vocals to be Abe Natsumi.

The song Morning Coffee has such a soothing melody, yet meaningful lyrics and it is stuck to me. It makes me feel relaxed and at peace with the world.The song expresses how it is like when you are in love with a person but embarrassed and scared to confess to the person. It somewhat also refer that the person is kind of slow in catching the hint that she is in love with him. It is the first Morning Musume single with an English name. Over the years, many versions of this song has been produced and sung by different members of Morning Musume, there is even a Dreams Version by Dream Morning Musume.

00 Single - 愛の種 - 50,000 copies sales challenge

Ai no Tane, (JP: 愛の種, Eng: Seeds of Love) is the demo single by Morning Musume. Producer Tsunku offered the chance to Nakazawa Yuko, Ishiguro Aya, Iida Kaori, Abe Natsumi and Fukuda Asuka, who were 5 of the 10 losers, a chance to be taken under his wing. He had only one request and that was for them to record and sell 50,000 copies of their debut single, "Ai no Tane".

The single was released on November 3, 1997. The sales of their single hit 50,000 copies on November 6, 1997.

Honestly speaking, for a debut song, they did very very well, especially when it was in 1997. It is a very nice and upbeat song and I feel it does not get enough exposure. The song has only been performed once and has the lowest number of views on in Morning Musume's Youtube channel. When the single was released, the girls had to go out and sell the CD themselves, and truthfully to be able to sell 50,000 copies in just 4 days is damn awesome. I can totally imaging them running around trying to sell it and it must have been very tough, kudos to them. So below are the information and download link. Enjoy!
